Can Land Underneath A Wind Turbine Still Be Used For Farming?

Yes, absolutely. Although turbines can have a very high tip height even the largest of turbines actually have a very compact footprint.

Galetech works with farmers across the EMEA region in the development of renewable energy projects. During the consultation and development process, farmers continue to rear livestock and grow crops on the land that has been selected for wind farm construction. Although there is some disruption to farming activity during the construction of a wind farm, once operational normal farming can continue as normal.

When wind farms are operational the wind turbines could help agriculture by mixing up the air, getting more carbon dioxide (CO2) into crops. Livestock is typically not affected by wind turbines and will even graze along the base of the turbine.
