Darren Sherry has practised continuously in the renewable energy industry for almost a decade now; and has been an active member of IWEA (Irish Wind Energy Association) since 1997, when his initial involvement in the renewables industry in Ireland begun.

In 2000 Darren co-founded Galetech Energy Limited; a progressive wind energy development business, which has constructed over 50MW of its own projects, with a further 380MW of projects in various stages of permitting & development.

Since 2000, the Galetech group of companies have completed Joint Ventures with various multinationals including Enron Wind, General Electric, Hibernian Wind Power, ESBI, Airtricity. Darren acted as lead negotiator on all deals, and project manager on all projects once merged.

In 2002 Darren co-formed IWCM, with a view to offering turnkey renewable energy consultancy to the Irish Market, the development of the company was accelerated in 2007 when it was felt the Irish renewable energy market had developed suitably.
Darren leads on the permitting, environmental & development support team; he also has a flair for deal negotiation & structuring with regard to clients mergers & acquisitions.
